21st Century Teaching Practice is a self-paced online course developed by the School of Education at LUMS, LUMS Learning Institute, and Knowledge Platform. This course is designed to give you a strong grasp on a learning model that will make learning fun for all your students.
The 5E framework is a learning model originally designed in the late twentieth century as a way to integrate the scientific method into science classrooms, and to encourage students to engage deeply with scientific concepts. The developers of the programme wanted to generate a curiosity among students that would lead to scientific investigation as a normal method of approaching any problem. In today’s world, the framework has proven to be particularly effective in teaching students key skills relevant to the 21st century: critical thinking, communication, analysis, and collaboration
The 5E Instructional Model is a student-centred learning framework that focuses on exploration, engagement, and encouraging students to discover and apply knowledge actively. This 10-hour course will teach you the fundamentals of the framework, provide in-depth instruction on each phase of the model, and give you valuable guidance on how to implement the framework in your classroom.
